Hi duckling bro, once again, thanks for delivering the emblems to me. And to answer your query, since I just got my K5 last night, it comes with the electric parking brake and also the auto hold feature. However, from someone who is used to pulling up the handbrake at most junctions, I'm very unused to it. Even after parking, it seems very odd not to pull something up or step something down. I haven't read the manual, but don't know why, sometimes the parking brake goes off after I press on the brake once or twice more despite not pressing down the electric parking button. As for the auto hold, I used to have it in my first ride (Scoobie), so I loved that feature. But I have yet to try it though. So many things yet to try!! By the way, my K5 comes with scuff plates at the doors, with red K5 led lights on them! Thanks Bro for the heads up...yes, already saw the new K5 - now standard comes with Electric Park Brake & Auto Hold & also Parking Sensors for the front. Didn't notice the "K5" scuff plate but I paid about $200 for them about 2 yrs ago. Last but not least, I notice there is no more GPS at the A Pillar - does yours comes with free GPS? Mine doesn't have anything at the A Pillar. I can't remember whether there was any option for GPS. I only remember my options were either solar films or bodykit. I opted for the latter. Anyway, finally used my Auto Hold feature for the first time today while waiting to come out from Fullerton Hotel's car park. Missed this feature so much when I was still driving my Magentis.

That is nice. The front sensors were not included when I bought my car in Sep 2012. Sent from my GT-I8160 using proboards Oh, so they are front sensors. Never knew what they were.

Hello All, I am not sure how many of you have seen this documentary "Birth of a KIA OPTIMA" by Discovery Channel on KIA Motors, about how KIA Peter Schreyer and the KIA team revamp the KIA brand. You can see how the changes at KIA was done gradually and how they managed to design and produce K5 Optima, which is an award winner in its class. After I have seen this documentary, I am even more confident in KIA cars and their future. Enjoy the documentary and learn more about KIA! the video is 46 minutes long. Birth of a KIA OPTIMA www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqHsAs5UDRUPS: By the way, KIA Motors is taking part in rally racing now too, as a platform to test their cars and of course, for marketing too. And KIA won! (beating many other prestigious brands!) Also, the last sentence which Peter Schreyer says is inspiring: "We want to make a car that people feel good about it, proud about it, and say, yes i bought that!'

I recently service my car at C&C and noticed that they are no longer selling the K5!! Asked the technician and they said they are not bringing in at the moment but do not know the reason. Just wondering how will this affect the resale of the car

Just wondering how will this affect the resale of the car I noticed it too. Probably they are upgrading to the 2014 facelift? Yes, they have stopped because C&C have sold all the stock of K5 Optima. They are waiting for the new 2014 facelift model of K5. My car agent told me when i asked her about this. Also this is the 2014 K5 model video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oJCZft4bREI also ask if C&C will bring in K7 or K9... she say most probably not. what a pity!

The new K5 exterior looks good! Interior not to my preference, abit obiang. But if the engine gets more power, then it's ok to overlook the interior I guess.
Anyway, an update after using my k5 for 1 yr 7 months. Build quality of Kia needs more improvement, so far my door handle spoil, aircon after a hard drive no power, wiper fluid container somewhere is loose and leaking. Next servicing in Aug will point out to them and see what they do about it.
Any bro can help recommend a suitable type of tyres for K5? Mine botak already. First time changing tyres =)

The taillights look kinda nice if you can overlook that its doesn't line up at the bottom area. I've heard that GoodYear Eagle f1 asymmetric 2 is quite good in terms of noise level. I myself am using Eagle f1 directional 5. Grips quite wheel. Noise level IMHO, 7/10. Not noisy but noticeable at 120km/h. Last I checked at Leong Seng (Ubi), Directional 5 is going for $150/pc. Asymmetric 2 is about $180/pc. Hope it helps. Btw, though the local K5 community is quite small, it would be nice if its more active in here.

It was only active when the hype was still there. Now dun get much response from fellow K5 owners here. Hence hardly come in also. By the way, I always see a black K5 in Yishun. Just saw it this morning one going from Yishun Ring Road and turning right into Yishun Ave 4 towards Yishun Ave 1.

I don't wish to compare but the Malaysia and USA K5 forum is so much livelier, with constant exchange of tips and tricks to personalize our K5. With tips, we are able to understand what are the affordable accessories available, what rim size would not rub, etc....
Btw, I'm looking forward to see and test drive the 2014 K5 (if it ever gets to our shores).
Speaking of Black K5, i happened to see one earlier at Lor Liew Lian area.

Hey thanks!
In the end I changed to CSC5, $225 per tyre at Tyre Track. It's been very good, the handling improved but could be because I used a slightly different profile. Enjoying it so far.
Just an update after my servicing, most of the faulty stuff have been solved. Only problem is the aircon. Still gives out hot air after a long ride. The only way is to lower the temperature before I drive - 21 degrees, which is freezing for me haha...

I'm driving with 22 degree and 2 bar fan speed during the day and 23 degree 1 bar fan speed at night. Btw, my AC is not cold at times too but that is minimal.

Thought they stopped the sales of K5 already? Anyway, congrats! What colour? I wanted a white, but they didn't have at that time, so ended up with black.

I chose santorini blue. They left with 1 when I booked it in early May. Nice color. The Santorini blue is one of the catchy colors that can bring out the K5. I was contemplating between the white, black and blue, but in the end i still went for the white cuz i personally prefer the color contract of white and black. Haven't seen any blue K5 on the road yet, but now if I do, i'll be sure to give you a honk. Collecting your car soon i believe? I bought my car last Sept when showroom sales were bad and I managed to collect my car within 5 days.

I bought my car last Sept when showroom sales were bad and I managed to collect my car within 5 days. I haven seen a blue k5 as well. I stay in north east, I've seen a couple of black k5 around my area though. Though the most common colour I've seen is white. I wanted platinum graphite in the first place, but they out of stock and not bringing that colour in anymore. So just go ahead with the bold colour blue. Collecting this weekend or next, see how fast they process the paperwork. My previous car was a white, like the colour alot, but its a pain to see water stains in as short as immediately after raining, especially when the sun is out immediately after the rain. Though washing it gives me alot of satisfaction, but I've always like blue as a colour itself.
