Yes my car has the solar film installed which is nice, but looks very oily between the film and window layers. Checked another k5 at c&c during collection and it also looks the same, very oily looking. From far you don't notice or up close at certain angles but when you stand next to the car it's very obvious. This applies for both rear windows and the rear windscreen. SE advised if it doesn't clear within two weeks to let him know as the film is under warranty. Looks like it's not clearing up so i'll be asking him about it soon. If the wipers are on auto they seem to swipe once on startup which i don't like, so i just leave them off. my solar film was installed almost 2 wks ago, still hv that oily color spectrum effect that u described, same as the show room car.... anyway it is free, I can live with it ;D my previous renault also hv the same wiper problem at times if on auto mode. Guess it should be normal bah, not a defect......

Managed to get mine with the 0.99% loan, so it's all good. Not really keen on the sunroof, as I don't get to use it much in Singapore. The main gripe I have is only one exhaust, instead of dual exhaust pipes that are standard for the 2.4l version. Also thinking of changing my headlamps to HID Xenon ones. Was told that since the headlamp holders are already HID-ready, all I need to do is swap out the bulbs. The sunroof model will hv the ventilated seat, factory leather, 3.5" LCD supervision cluster, HID, 6 airbags & rear view camera that I wanted. Not sure got TPMS or not. The only feature that i'm not so keen is the static bending light.... Dual exhaust can be added on bro, not to worry. Currently can only get it from korea website, local dun hv. It will affect the low end torque, can consider putting a dummy if it is a concern to u.... K5 is using projector headlight, so it is HID friendly. However it is not simply swap out the bulbs, needs minor modification to the bulb holder in order to have the correct focus and securing the additional ballast. Do note K5 requires canbus ballast, those common cheapo ballast does not work... I'm using 4300k bulb, a little yellowish but whiter then halogen bulb. If u prefer white, go for 5000k, but the throw will be shorter then 4300k.

I'm planning to have the tranny fluid flushed at 10k and will also bring it in for a 5k oil change even though C&C says it's not necessary. Personal preference. Anyone know if the tranny fluid also lubricates the front differential or will i need to change diff oil as well? Previous car was a manual so i'm not familiar with how the setup works on an auto.
The 'Setup' button on my stereo broke/jammed yesterday, so now i can't sync my bluetooth or control the stereo/ipod from the steering wheel. Went to C&C this morning and they have to order a new headunit for me from Korea, waiting time est a month. Also found out that someone scraped my front bumper yesterday while the car was parked at marina cove. Not a good day.

So there is water droplets in the headlight right? Did u mention to them did they say anything? This seems to be a common problem for all the newly designed Kia (forte, K5, K7, etc). Two of my pals driving forte are having water seepage/fogging issues with their headlamps as well. Best to take your car back to C&C servicing and raise this. What they will probably do is try to tighten the headlamp units.

Front wheel drive differential is sharing the fluid with the tranny, unless rear wheel or AWD need to replace differential fluid... oh dear....not ur day indeed....

They will do some adjustment and then for you to try it out again.

It looks as if you did not wash the car or you install some sub-standard solar film.

Honestly I feel the spectrum effect is an eyesore. It looks as if you did not wash the car or you install some sub-standard solar film. ya, agree, not appealing at all. This so called top end platinum rike cool is a standard item for KIA cat b car. Guess most of the car owners including myself does not know of the spectrum effect till the day the collected the new ride It really look like those low grade film u mentioned. After checking rike cool website, platinum grade is not cheap. Was thinking why would ppl go for such film if is it not free?? There is additional labour cost to redo the film and risk of damaging the rear demister, shall live with it....

kia service bulletin addressing to the fogging/condensing headlight. "It is normal to fog if it does not clear after 30mins with headlight on then it is not normal".... that is their official reply Attachments:

It wasn't my day but at least it took longer than expected. I was expecting to get scraped/hit/scratched/door-dinged within the first week of collecting the car, so to make it three weeks without any marks is quite an achievement in my books. I'm still suprised my front and rear fenders and doors are still unmarked by people who don't know how to open doors properly and/or have no respect for other people's property.
