Hi Koupers,
I would like to share this with everyone here. I had the privilege to
install the Ninja V2 Air Intake / Filter system today. There has been quite a lot of hype and different opinions about this product, thus I decided to just try it out myself.
I didn't want to pay for a system like that for a couple of hundred bucks, but since my good ol friend has decommissioned his previous car, he was kind enough to let me have it and use it. He has a view that the mid range power has improved + fuel Consumption was better after his 6 months of driving his Mazda 2 with this system. Low End was not effected.
Nuts & Bolts: The original Airbox had to be removed to make way for the system, and the ECU had to be fixed to a fabricated Bracket. The system is easy to be reversed to stock setup.
Initial Review after Installation on my 1.6A Koup:
1) Better Trottle Response at Mid Range. Yes amazingly true. Rev Needle was eager to move up to higher RPM. (But dun expect too much of it. You are not driving a Civic with Open Pods).
2) Most Importantly, the system does not effect the Low End. Which I feel is good. Low end as per normal when you drive the Koup Bone Stock with K&N Air Filter.
3) Top end - Not tested. I will try next month when I am driving on the NSHW to Cameron Highlands. Will revert again.
4) Fuel Consumption Improvements - Not Tested. I need to monitor this with my next tank of petrol for a week. will revert again.
5) I saw the Filter element of this product and I have a some skeptism about the filtering properties of Sponge Filter. It may be more free flowing but I suspect it may not trap dirt as efficiently as the K&N Air filter.
Pictures tells a thousand words. Photos for your viewing pleasure:
I'm not promoting this product, but just reviewing the product. For More Info please see here:
