Finding a good, honest and reasonably priced workshop is like finding gold. So I wanna share with bros & sis here this wkshop recommended to me by bro Hattee. They have been servicing korean cars since '84 and the owner, veteran Sebastian is honest, friendly guy. They dont anyhow ask you to change dis and dat (unlike some wkshops that are out to rip you off with their laundry list of parts they insit you change and their scare tactics!) I paid only $250 for labour to change timing belt, water pump, fan belt, a spoilt windshield washer fluid pump, front shocks, and the 80K oil change which they threw in new spark plugs and air filter. Sebastian drove me all the way to Eunos to check my alignment at his friend's wkshop who got the testing machine so in the end I saved $80 (which a certain popular wkshop in Ubi insisted that i fork out cos they said my alignment was out! Bunch of crooks!). So, check out 'Seb Auto' located at their spanking new premise Auto Bay Kaki Bukit Ave 6 (they moved from Eunos). 67471538/ 67474193. Sebastian or Dean. Hope this helps!

I have sent my magentis to Seb Auto for some repair and servicing last weekend. Sebastian is a very experienced guy for Korean cars. Honest guy too! He will not ask you to replace any parts unless necessary. Good mechanic. Agree with blastwave, like finding gold.

Thanks for the tip. I will try them next time.
My previous two servicing with Harmony Motors were a letdown.
1st servicing didn't warn me about worn brakes.
2nd servicing didn't rotate my tyres or warn me about tyre wear. End up have to change all four tyres.
And servicing charges were higher than elsewhere.

End up have to change all four tyres. And servicing charges were higher than elsewhere. service naturally drops when they have too many customers and they are not able to cope with the demand. Sometimes when they are too popular they become delusional and start charging exhorbitantly because of a perceived self-importance. Its only when customers start looking elsewhere then they will buck up. I guess that happens everywhere. If they dont want to listen to customers' feedback, that is their loss actually. Dont bother going back to them. There are many good ones with better and cheaper service.

I have been going to Riverview Auto at AMK Autopoint level 4 for ~5years.
Their charges were reasonable for the first 3.5 years. Recently, Riverview started to charge $25 on top of their service charges (not including oil) for customers bring their own parts like oil filter, air filter and air-con filter. I find the charges unreasonable because parts like air-con filter were not availabe at AMK autopoint for our magentis.
I think I will SEB auto the for my next servicing due in 2 weeks time. I have been there 2x about 5 years ago when I was driving the Hyundai Matrix. They were at Eunos then.

Was there recently for a check engine light that keep coming on, for my 05 mag. Veteran Seb told me its probably got to do with me using 95 octane for the longest time and that i should try switching to 98 which burns cleaner to avoid permanent damage to something (O2 sensor?? didnt quite catch what he was referring to). He did me a favour to cancel the CEL at no charges. I'm onto 98 nowadays and making sure that the gas cap is tightly screwed after fill-up. He told me that recently he did an engine transplant on a Mag whose timing belt burst!!!
