Hi bros.... have been driving my V2 manual for almost 6mths. So far mileage around 20k. So far i love its performance and handling. It's a really good car. But recently, i keep hearing the road noise and it's getting louder by the day. The engine noise also equally loud. i check with C&C they say cerato V2's engine quite powerful so the loud engine noise is inevitable. But how abt the road noise? I'm using stock Hankook tyres and its still quite new. Sometimes i get headaches from the engine and road noise after driving back home from work. Even my friends ask is there a problem with the car..
i wonder is it just that cerato chasis have bad sound-insulation? Do any V2 owners feel the same?
Can anyone advise is it time to get better tyres or do some sound -proofing instead? Pls help.

I can still hear my engine sound while travelling. That's normal. Furthermore, our V2 body is heavy so when you accelerate, you will tends to hear the engine sound even more. As for the road noise, if travelling on a rougher surface, of cos' it's louder as compared to smoother road surface. To me all these are normal.

V2 already quite a silent car if compare to Lancer. Since u'd already travelled 20k do check on ur tyre tread see if it's already more than 50% wear off. If u'r still using the stock Kumho or Hankook tyres, is normal the rd noise will get louder compare to those japs tyres like yoko. As for engine side, u may consider to do a firewall sound proof lo. It'll help like reducing ard 30% but of course still cant fight those Lexus or Merz la. ;D For V2, i realise the engine is quite silent. The only thing i can hear during acceleration is the muffler's sound. I found the Avante is more quiet as compare to V2 even both is using the same egine. At least its muffler doesn't sound much.

Road noise will be reduced significantly. Sound-proofing of the bonnet, doors and boot will also help in some ways. Wat car u driving previously before V2?I find tat the V2 is already very quiet liaoz leh.Yr previous ride is a Lexus? If so,different levels liaoz...

For your info, I just did servicing today. my mechanic kept on harping about why I bought korean and how great toyota and honda cars are etc. Then he started my engine and was shocked how quet it was. Then he drove the car a short distance and was pleasantly surprised too. He commented it was the quietest car he came across in this class....better than toyotas and hondas that he came across. ;D

He commented it was the quietest car he came across in this class....better than toyotas and hondas that he came across. ;D U nv update him that the Toyotas and Hondas in same class as V2 and price range all tom-yam assembled where V2 is still assembled in it's origin country! The Toyotas and Hondas in the same price range as V2 are all having cost-cutting measures to increase their damn profits of each car they sell. Latest batch of V2s had some minor cost cutting features like door courtesy lights...etc but not at the expense of NVH(Noise,Vibration,Harshness) qualities which is the Korean's 1st priority in competing with the japs. Toyotas and Hondas is already well-known and they know,so they quietly cut down the use of expensive materials on their mainstream production cars which earn them huge profits!(Where are the good old days of having a 1.6 litre car which comes with 4-discs brakes all round with affordable pricing?) Tink only Korean ride now has the answer!

As it is still an imported vehicle(CBU) at the time being, therefore priced abit high due to import tax.But once Naza Kia feel that there's local demand for this model,Naza will start to build (CKD) of this model which is assembled in Msia and starts to lower the price. Our face value will also drop when we drive into Msia if Naza starts assembling (CKD) production of their Spectra 5!

Best cost is still avail in JB's wrkshp. However,if u wanna do undercarriage spray in SGP,one of my fren did his V2 at tuff-kote for S$380/= according to him which I felt is a little bit on the high side.
