Hi all,
Have juz installed HID on my cerato hatchback, wanna enquire about a problem that i've encountered.
The HID kit is installed in my fog lamps. However, when i turn it on at times, it doesnt light up. the fog lamp indicator on the panel did not indicate at all.
Could it be my battery problem or switch problem?
I thought HID supposed to consume lesser voltage/amperes?
My headlights are working fine.
Pls advise bros....thanks.

Think most probably ur fog light fuse blown. Or ur HID ballast up lorry liao. Bring bk to ur installer n let them verify the problem. Since it's newly installed, it should have warranty.

erm installer suggested it might be battery problem. but juz wanna make sure if it's battery problem, if change already still lidat dan it will be pointless as i do not encounter any problem with cold start or other electrica problems. thanks bros for the inputs!

Ask them to jump a used but working battery to your car and prove that it's battery problem.

got some experience before(but diff ride), the mech. change to a higher fuse, very high flow of current resulting the plastic fuse melted but did not blow of the fuse to cut the voltage. In my case is actualy is the wiring got some SC problem.

Sometimes might b the fuses contact issue. Happened to my Bosch HID, aft take out put bk then ok liao. HID suppose to consume lesser current. Take a multi meter to check ur batt voltage. If abv 12V then should b ok.

voltage looks ok. most important is that when you turn on highbeam and fog lights with air con and everything on, the voltage should read at least 12.8V or above (but below 14.5V)

I hate cars with HID headlights. I'll report your car number to ROV if I see it cos it's an illegal modification.

I hate cars with HID headlights. I'll report your car number to ROV if I see it cos it's an illegal modification. Properly aligned HID won't blind,it's those installer's lousy skills with mis-aligned H.I.D. that gives the probs. Fyi, Ther's no ROV nwadays, only LTA and if i see yr car with any illegal mods,I'll report to LTA also. The world is round and u muz xpect the same thing which will happen to u if u do the same to others. and take care!

Yes. Only those mis-aligned & not tuned HID will glare. Those old Crown Taxi oso might glare u even they dun have HID. Actually if u take a look @ LTA website, it's really not clear abt the HID lo. If aft market HID is not allow to install, why not they ban it from entering s'pore & spot check all the car accessories shop?

I hate cars with HID headlights. I'll report your car number to ROV if I see it cos it's an illegal modification. then probably i think u have much phonecalls to make as not only HIDs are illegal, alot other things also.....and many cars on the road have illegal modifications, e.g. tinting, number plates size and font, wide body kits etc and even changing of bulb or pole beam to white are illegal too, and also, changing of your air filter as well. There are too many to list.... If ure serious in your words, i guess you must have been blinded by many not-focus HID lights which happens for many people including me. i understand your unhappiness and sometimes there's alot things in life we don't like, detest, but often we just live with it and life goes on. (littering, pple eating/drinking on train and bus, smoking in non-designated area etc....) Don't worry, I am not offended by yr comments. Just my 2 cents opinion. Have a nice day.
