What does this device do for the ride, the positives and also the negatives, if any?
Also, any place to recommend to get it done and estimated costs with installation?
Thanks!

Its a good device cos if u drive for sometime, ur ram pipe to ur throttle body wil be very dirty with sludge. By having an oil catch tank, most of the sludge wil go to ur oct instead.

icic thanks ... is there any maintenance that we should do once the 'Oil Catch Tank' is installed into the car? Or is it a maintenace free device?
Btw, any recommendation of where to install one and estimated costs?

OCT can cost as little as $50. Once sludge accumulated, u just drain them out. Tat abt it.

...Yeah lah...heard tat if hard driving then need, but i guess no harm to install for normal driving oso...it's juz a tank to store excess oil vapors/ sludge instead of re-circulating it back to the engine...benefit shd be cleaner TB/ ram pipe...some say got performance gain, but i doubt so.. ... Basically any brand oso same function...a tank with an IN/OUT, sighting tube and drain plug..Used to use Violence brand (RM160) which is kinda small..now using Cusco ($100 plus)..It's a nice additon to the engine bay as well...Installation is simple and straight forward... ..

An alternative would be the "breather filter".. But then, the engine bay might get "polluted" with oil smudges..

Wow!...Bro Sigma, u r very resourceful!...Tis is a very good clip tat explain the purpose/ benefits of OCT...Ok..OK, abt the cleaner intercooler part doesn't apply to our NA car (unless got lup TC lah)..but the part abt reducing engine 'knocking' & 'pinging' is valid... Upz for u!! ...Tis is one of the main reasons why we join forums...to gain knowledge and to share knowledge...

for our kia cars, I think the OCT doesn't really help in performance except for those who go high revving, for other makes it might actually incur higher FC. Usually the gases are re-routed back into the engine to be burnt off. Some cars recapture unburnt petrol here and pushes it back into the combustion chamber to be burnt. As for the knocking and pinging.. I'll take it with a pinch of salt because all cars will recycle the "waste" back into the engine to be burnt. This reduce the need to maintain a waste container of oil which we have now re-introduced back as the OCT. Of course it looks cool in the engine bay and can be easily DIY if you can find the proper material and have access to proper tools.
