Just done my QF today! Can't really comment on the difference yet cos I only drive from Chia Ping back to my home at Jurong West Extension... Havn't driven on Highway too... Will try to drive long distance tmr & update again! As what Bro Acefission & Tat1977 mentioned yesterday, Joey is indeed a very nice guy! He not only explained to me the theory for this QF patiently and also many many other things about cars!!! Very highly knowledgeable person on cars! He is very willing to share with anyone all the things he knows! Thank you Joey!!!

Thanks all bros for your good comment. I am so happy that all of you were enjoying your short stay at my place. I am renovating my lounge. Once ready, I believe you will find staying here a more pleasant experience.
Cheers and safe driving.

does QF upgrade the open loop maps as well? The good things about Original ECU Programming (OEP) are that as long as you understand the maps fully, you can touch everything. OEP can do the full tune, open or close loop. It can even narrowed or widened the close or open loop area. Many things, too much to explain here. Thanks for your query and safe driving. Joey

wif the QF, will it be able to alter speed cut and rev cut ? Not every car has speed cut. Eg, export model of most Japanese Make has no speed cut. There is a different between Speed and Rev. You can cut Speed limit but you cannot cut Rev Limit. You can only life the Rev Limit higher, eg from 6500 to 7200. However, if your car is an Automatic, then Rev Limit is unless as the Transmission Control Unit will be incharge of this. It will determine when to shift up or down. For QF, I do cut speed or lift Rev limits. But not for all model. Reasons, I still have not finish editing all models maps yet. It is not easy to find all these maps. Alternatively, I can buy these info from my principals, but only if there is a request to purchase, or else, I will do the home work myself. And that will take some time. Thanks for your query and safe driving. Joey

joey, i understand wat is the difference between the 2 of them, i oso understand that most of jap makes does not have speed limit but wif rev limit. but u are posting in a KIA forum . korean. most of us have the limits. if for picanto and cerato, will u be able to remove the speed limit. and im toking about pure manual cars.

Adding to the same point, will lifting the speed and rev limit increase load on engine? Maybe there is a purpose to putting a limit on Korean cars? Can Joey clarify??

Yes, there are Speed Limiter and REV Limiter in all data files, Korean or others. But sometimes, the manufacturer set the Speed Limit to 180km/h (Japanese Law) and sometimes they don't. This is the same for Koreans. But some cars like Picanto, due to the small engine capacity, it cannot reach 180km/h. So with or without speed limiter, it cannot reach that speed. I am worry that if I say that I can remove the speed limit, and you will expect your 'picanto' to drive at 180km/h. Thanks and safe driving Joey

The purpose of the limiters are for law abiding or safety, that's all. The ECU control this by retarding ignition angles, follows by leaning out and turning OFF ignition. When the lower speed limit (Speed Limiter OFF) were met due to the slow down, everything will go back to normal. Engine cannot increase load by itself. Thanks and safe driving. Joey

If done QF already... and did some other enhancement stuff after that and considering to reflash again... what is the cost of doing it... the full price or just pay a small fee for it?
Another question, for what "types of mods" does one install FDL instead of QF? Thanks.

Another question, for what "types of mods" does one install FDL instead of QF? Thanks. Tuning is mainly touching the Air/Fuel Ratio and Ignition. So if you were to add mods, only mods that involve AIR and FUEL, then you may need to fine tune. If you are not sure, after modding, whether fine tuning is needed or not, just come to my shop and I will assist you. My charges for fine tuning are: on dyno - $280/hr + GST. on road $180/hr + GST. Thanks and safe driving. Joey Lim
