ohok.. dunno y.. but recently felt smthg when doin hard braking ar.. everytime i brake hard, dunno y but my sterring wheel tend to turn to d right a bit on its own.. den once in a while, wen driving, i can smell smthg like 'tyre burning' smell ar... kinda wierd.. any1 can help? Bro, similar experience I have had in my previous car. Found out later that the hydraulic braking system is choked, end up replacing all the brake hoses, calliper, brake pads etc. Better get it check asap for safety reasons. If u can feel the steering turn to the right, it may be due to the left brakes not working properly, i.e. right side gripping properly but left's notl. When you smell the burning rubber, it could be due to the brake still gripping to the disc even after u lift your foot off the brake pedal. All these could be due to a choke in your braking system so it's better to send to the workshop asap for a thorough check.

Hi bro astroboi, from your description, its callled brake binding or brake jammed. What happens is that ur piston for your brake calliper is unable to retract when u release ur brake pedal. As a result more braking force to ur jammed calliper in a faster rate.Eventually ur rotor will get burn marks and pulling of ur car during braking.usually they change the seals and flush the brake system.Hope this helps .

Hi,
my rear disc brake pads were recently diagnosed to have worn off so I had it changed. This was the first time I changed any of my brakes and my mechanic used Hyundai brake pads which he said is the same for my ride (Kia Cerato). He asked how come my rear brakes worn out before the front brake pads but I can't answer him as I also don't know why (anyone has the answer to this question?).
Now whenever I apply my brakes just after starting to move off, there will be a soft but clear screeching sound which will go away after braking a few more time as I continue to drive. Can anyone help to explain why?
By the way, the exact shop that SaNibOy and psyfool7 were referring to is:
Min Ghee Auto Pte Ltd Address : 8 Jln Lembah Kallang #01-01 Tel : 6298 3888
Anway, thank you, ttyg02, for the info. If you (or anyone else for that matter) happen to get the shop name and address, appreciate if you can help post it for the benefit of all our bro/sis (and myself, of course, he he he...).

The sound when worn out is like metal against metal rubbed together... Not loud screech..

brobonzz... my mileage is 40k+ oreadi... i feel dat d SW like move by itself to d right everytime i apply hard braking... i oso got feeling dat my SW got prob ar.. haiz... haf u change ur brake pads bro? if change alr n the prob persist, maybe its due to tires alignment.. i faced this prob b4.. alignment not done properly, front left tire makan more to the inner walls so when i do hard braking, sw will auto shift.. then i smell rubber, just like after u've done a burnout/powerslide/drift kind of excessive burnt rubber smell.. hope info helps..
