Hi
Anyone knows a place that i could go, to remove the emblems/logo at the boot area? And the guess-timated cost of removing it.
I would like to put some decals/stickers at the back of the car. The sticker shop said that it would be faster if i could remove the emblems/logo first to save time. Then come down to the shop to put the /decals/stickers.
Thanks in advance !!

U mean the C&C/KIA/ride model logos/emblems? Actually can DIY if u wanna, need fishing line, some form of cleaning fluid, cloth and maybe a straight head screw driver and patience...

DIY bro.. I use WD40 to remove the residue... If it can't get off too, use kerosene.. Then wash it off once done...

I tink bro ez_s_abc is also referring to the Kia emblem that will leave a hole once removed..I tink he want to paste sticker there..For tat, need to do some putty work to cover up the hole..Or another alternative is to make a customised oval emblem to fit into the existing hole...

Tks all.
Actually i just want to change the whole boot color to black (through sticker), wanna a bit of change in the outlook hehehe. The shop said it would be better if i removed everything at the back first. Then it would be easier and faster for them to stick one whole piece of black sticker at the boot.
I know nuts about DIY, so thinking i can go to a place get it done and then proceed to the sticker place today as i'm on leave. I actually don't mind leaving the stuff at the back but the shop said it would be easier if everthing is removed first and they work on a flat surface.
Or you guys have any other shops to recommend that can get the job done w/o to much fuss where they will take care of everything?

Actually it is quite simple, just fishing line and as mentioned by Bonzz WD40/kerosene or those cleaning polish/stain remover, just take the fishing line and work it behind the emblem until it comes off, then use the whatever cleaning fluid u have to clean/wipe off the the glue/residue that is left over, takes a while and patience, then u might wanna wash the back to get rid of the cleaning fluid remains but if u wanna have a shop do it for it also ok la, dunno how much they charge also... Come DIY on 20th Jul and do? Psyfool - Yeh Happy Tree Friends gory and violence to the max! I nca hear the haunting opening tune now.... hehehe

What about the oval KIA logo? Its taped or with a catch secured? It's double sided taped on..but the emblem got like 2 protruding pins tat slot into 2 holes..but not catches..Can use screwdriver to slowly pry out..becareful not to scratch the paintwork..

Hmm..If not mistaken, we met at Yishun MSCP when I stickered my boot black by Darren rite?... ...Tat was some time ago... Yup yup that was me... it was back in the 80s .. just kidding.. I now abit itchy... every weekend check the car page in the newspapers... want to get a new ride ... but calculate and calculate... using calculators, fingers and toes ;D but the truth of the matter is my current ride is still much cheaper to continue with the monthly payments. So the next best thing is to 'spruce' up the look of the current ride abit but my wife thinks i'm crazy and wasting $$. I originally planned to do the bonet (done), top (still thinking) and boot (most likely doing). Also wanted to sticker the two side mirrors but was told that this can't be done. Also toyed with the idea of respraying the color but i dunno any good spray shop and the cost i think a bit expensive... more will upset the wife ;D ... Plus have to leave the car there for a few days. So the next alternative & cheaper and lesser 'downtime' of only a few hours is the sticker stuff. Btw this Yishun chap's shop i contacted is operating from Ave 11. Yeah forgot abt checking with Darren for the job maybe i can check with him.

Bro if yours a sedan, can follow what I did: Here goes...... For the cerato / Ex / sports words........ like the other bros mentioned use a fish line.... then clean off with contact cleaners...... fo rme I used fine wire to remove it and then liquid wax to remove the residue...... all methods possible....... for the kia logo...... this is a little tougher....... there is actually a nut screwed into the logo from the back..... first you have to open the boot lining and if you "trace" the position of the logo and the boot position, use the correct size tool to remove the nut...... once done.... use a fish line or fine wire to run under the logo to separate the logo and the double side tape...... once done the logo will come out easily...... use contact cleaner or liquid wax to remove the residue of the tape...... please note...... removing the kia logo will leave a "hole" that will be connected to the inner part of the boot..... so make sure you water proof the area so that water does not seep in...... hopes this helps
