The chassis & suspension setup oso another factor. Instead some of the japs car already started to use torsion beam for the rear set up as to cut cost. But thank god tat cerato still using bk the multi-link suspension.

Yes, you are right as many of the Japanese makes for those 1.6cc are still using torsion beam, you can notice there is a bar on the rear suspension, examples of the Japanese cars are Nissan Sunny, Latio, Blue Bird Sylphy etc. Cerato is using independent multi-link suspension and also gas absorber instead of oil absorber used in most japanese makes.

Yeah, Japs are really cutting cost now as they have built up their reputation over the years for their cars. They now resort to skimping certain expensive manufacturing process on their production car models in order for them to earn more from each vehicle! The Axio is 1 fine example of the japs cutting production cost!No rear discs brake, same old engine carried over from predecessor and the list goes on...

For the Axio, I think the most unacceptable items they cut cost are the RPM Meter and Boot light, there are no RPM Meter and boot light for Axio which these items are pretty standard in most cars. In order to make the car lighter, they have remove such items and also making all their metal and plastic thinner in order to lighten the weight of the car. I will doubt so that there are safety bars on all of the Axio's door and probably they just put the metal sheets on all of the door just like they did for the Wish. I happen to take a glance at the Wish when the customer is doing sound proofing on the doors, there is a thin metal sheet on the doors, no safety bars across the doors are seen so you can imagine if the accident involved side impact crash.

The Axio bringing in by the PI here is the most economy package, hence they cut out lots of accessories as to earn more $$. Instead if u take a peep @ japs side, the Axio did come with rpm meters, 4 disc brakes, digital aircon. The meter cluster is selectable of amber or white colour. But i found the new altis is the worst copycat. They use the Axio body n modify it to become more ugly then use bk the old 1.6 VVTi engine which has a lower power of 106hp (vs Axio 110hp). Bigger cc but lower power. Furthermore the FC oso not as gd as Axio... Then $$ is more x than Axio. So who wanna buy a tom yam if the sushi is cheaper? Really pity those who bought the new Altis.

I guess many Axio brought in by PI are mainly Auto Transmission so that is why they remove the RPM Meter as you will not need to check the RPM meter if everything is controlled by the Auto Gearbox. So thinking of saving fuel and removing lots of the important items, I will not accept it as safety and comfort in a car is very important to me and driving in Singapore as most Singapore drivers are reckless drivers. I still trust the basic concept of having thicker metal body and bumpers to ensure better protection during an accident over the technology of having crumpled zone and having thin metal body protection, that is just my preference.

Tat's quite worrying and u wouldn't wanna get involved in an accident wif a car like that! Of coz,no one would tink of an accident when they buy a car,the price of high fuel more than overwrites almost anything else especially when buyers are looking for a sub-compact car. But...who knows,e sub-compact car u've chosen might save u in the event if an accident should happen!

For me, I would prefer to have the car more powerful rather than making the car lighter and thinner in metals to get good FC while tuning down the power of engine.

A colleague of mine who was his way to work last monday saw Cerato V2 on a trailer. 3 silver 2 black. He specifically saw the variant2 plating on the car. To him this plating is an eye sore.

Most probably on the way to registration... C&C Kia engages trailer services even for registrations?Tot they were used to ferry the cars from the shipping ports to showroom only... But even then,it's not a bad thing!
