Madan,
We don't have diesel sportage on the roads here. Local regulations makes it un-economical to have a diesel passenger vehicle on our roads.
BTW, how much did the chip cost? Does it replace the ECU, or is it a re-chip or piggyback? Any soldering required?

Chip can increase BHP & Torque Is KIA short change us I thought engine CC and gearbox ratio determine the BHP & Torque

Chip can increase BHP & Torque Is KIA short change us I thought engine CC and gearbox ratio determine the BHP & Torque The factory default ECU chip/data would always be programmed for longevity in mind. Usually, the engine is will run slightly richer(bad for fuel consumption). With modern electronics, we can gain quite abit of power from the engine by performing a retune to maximise its efficiency first. But too efficient will produce more heat, which can be bad for engine health, etc etc.... Too much to type, maybe can talk more during meetups. Bernard

This is a Diesel Tuning Box. What it does is hijack the Diesel Pressure Sensor Signal and 'tells' the ECU that the Pressure is lower. So the ECU will pump up higher pressure and thus supply more Diesel into the combustion Chamber. For Diesel system, power is gained by injecting more diesel. In Europe, Diesel Common Rail System is the in thing now. Most of the car are going towards this trend. 2 major systems in the market: Bosch and Siemens. For KIA, its a Bosch system. 1 thing good about CRDi is that power gain is very obvious. I have done 1 CRDi tune in KL and gain 40HP easily. Too bad, no bizz in Singapore cos only Taxi has it, AND THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED. But I am able and had tuned some EuroVan in Singapore. Maybe they can tell you more about CRDi tune result. Cheers

joey, Does your tuning require any chips?? i mean unichip lor, its a pluy n play type rite? how much does it cost?? Oh, mine is not a piggyback. I am doing Original ECU Programming. What I do is read your data from your ECU, modify them and write (flash) them back into the ECU. It is totally stealth (Good for the warranty but bad for clients who wants to hold something physical in their hands). I dare to say that mine is the best dollar for power mod in the market. I am running 3 workshops in Singapore (2) and JB (1). So if you want to 'catch' me, please call me at 9636 9151. Thanks Joey

But before installing the kit, best to at least upgrade the following: brakes, ATF cooler, Engine Oil Cooler, maybe do brake ducts as well, etc. Bernard

Hi EVOIIIGSR,
I have done the ECU reflash at Harmony, the feeling after doing it, car feels lighter during accelerating. Imed feeling, same type of feeling when like install a light weight crank pulley. Now my FC is average at 8.5 ~ 9.3 KM/L.
The only thing I hate is, I have done it at $400 plus, then suddenly Harmony got this CNY promotion, which cost only $200. I was just 2 weeks before the CNY promo, damn the Joey never inform me before hand, so I could save $200. Other than that, it is really a good mod with imed feel. No regrets so far. If u want to test drive my ride can PM me.

For 1) Better FC, 2) Better Power or 3) In Between? Price wise, its not 200 for CNY Promo right? I vaguely recall its closer to 300 range. Bernard
