Finally after some trial and error, manage to do the DIY. As i can't find any step by step instruction for insulation of the A/C piping of the picanto. Hope that it helps those that like to do DIY but dunno how. Length Breadth Before Piping Insulation 1 Before Piping Insulation 2 Piping Insulation part 1 - Bit by Bit do, don't tighten the cable tie too tight so that it could be push further inside. Piping insulation part 2 - After part 1 pushing the insulation inward to the lower end of the pipe then continue insulation. Piping Insulation part 3 - One piping insulation done Not forgeting the small short pipe behind. That's all folks.

When out for a trial this hot afternoon. Normally, the air flow from the aircon won't cool down fast. And sometimes due to the heat outside, the aircon inside won't be that cold. :goodnews:Today experience is slightly better, the air flow cool down faster (like during the cool morning days) Temperature is quite ok as i only put my fan speed to 2. Not bad..worth my time of DIY-ing.

beside cable tie, you should use ice cream stick and apply glue to seal the insulation foam. and there are some pipes near the firewall that you have not insulate.

Kindly advise me where is this firewall thing located. It would be better if you could provide a picture and circle that firewall thing that u have mentioned. tks

does it really work? what's the theory behind it? Check those aircon compressor at your office building. Do they use these as well...

wondering if those insulating materials will catch fire or not?

normally air con insulator is to resist heat, they are fire retardant i guess, so not fire will create but become ash yes...
